Corea's Luisito Andaltia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Corea from getting a goal against them. Aldomiro Flamenco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisito Andaltia having to interfere. After 19 minutes of play, Corea's Cibran Zayas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jordi Freire was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oliviero Alari during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 22 played minutes Fernando got a freekick which was hit by Oliviero Alari. 23 minutes into the match, Cibran Zayas notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Fernando's Jordi Freire. Jordi Freire was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luisito Andaltia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aldomiro Flamenco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cibran Zayas in the 28th minute of play forced Fernando's goalkeeper Jordi Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Xavon Cera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fernando's goalkeeper Jordi Freire, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Yoel Oteo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Corea getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Estevon Arancibia hit a great ball. After the first half Corea were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aldomiro Flamenco made a kick off. When Camerino Comillas fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corea's protests and gave Camerino Comillas a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Fernando booed when Corea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camerino Comillas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute, Mirande Babiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oswaldo Bolaños kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Jordi Freire was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cibran Zayas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 61 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Aldomiro Flamenco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fernando's supporters rose to their feet, but Aldomiro Flamenco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luisito Andaltia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Mirande Babiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cibran Zayas in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jordi Freire saved Fernando from getting behind. When Aldo Largacha fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fernando's protests and gave Aldo Largacha a yellow card for diving instead. After 85 played minutes Fernando got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Largacha. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldomiro Flamenco in the 89th minute of play forced Corea's goalkeeper Luisito Andaltia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mirande Babiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Luisito Andaltia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aldomiro Flamenco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cibran Zayas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Fernando's zone, Cibran Zayas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jordi Freire came out of the goal and Cibran Zayas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Corea supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Corea would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
