The supporters of Goaigoaza booed when Boyaqui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Higinio Bernabeytia didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mark Capellan in the 4th minute of play forced Boyaqui's goalkeeper Gonsalve Muriedas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Boyaqui's Miliano Rosines got a free kick in the 8th minute. The attack was good, but when Mark Capellan in the 9th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If Mark Capellan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Xzavion Funes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute of the match Joselito Zubillaga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gonsalve Muriedas skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hechter Casuso in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Estebe Rivero saved Goaigoaza from getting behind. 27 minutes into the match, Mark Capellan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gonsalve Muriedas. Boyaqui's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mark Capellan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Mark Capellan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the game, Filomeno Ozaeta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Boyaqui's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goaigoaza the free kick. When Mark Capellan came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Goaigoaza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Capellan couldn't finish the play. 46 minutes into the game, Goaigoaza's Mark Capellan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gonsalve Muriedas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mark Capellan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Xzavion Funes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Gonsalve Muriedas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xzavion Funes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonsalve Muriedas having to interfere. When Filomeno Ozaeta was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. In the 86thth minute of the game Mark Capellan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Boyaqui's Gonsalve Muriedas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 88th match minute, Goaigoaza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florinio Villaseca to maneuver through the defense. Xzavion Funes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baltasar Armida struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Estebe Rivero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boyaqui.
