In the 3rd minute, Ysidro Losado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Gonsalvo Braña came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Canoabito FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonsalvo Braña couldn't finish the play. If Iraido Ucero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpected shot in the 11th minute by Celestino Uquillas got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 13 played minutes Canoabito FC got a freekick which was hit by Guillelmo Machin. Celestino Uquillas kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Catarico's Celestino Uquillas got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gonsalvo Braña sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Iraido Mateos fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Catarico's protests and gave Iraido Mateos a yellow card for diving instead. Iraido Mateos kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Ysidro Losado struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Cleto Aguilar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canoabito FC. Saturnin Alves took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cleto Aguilar. Cleto Aguilar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The supporters of Canoabito FC booed when Catarico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iraido Ucero didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute, Gonsalvo Braña got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
In the 54th minute of the match Catarico got a corner. Canoabito FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gelmiro Sotorrio ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 55th minute Iraido Ucero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Candelaria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cleto Aguilar didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 57th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. Alfredo Candelaria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iraido Ucero, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. If Celestino Uquillas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Celestino Uquillas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catarico's supporters rose to their feet, but Celestino Uquillas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Candelaria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfredo Candelaria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celestino Uquillas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Canoabito FC's Alfredo Candelaria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iraido Ucero in the 77th minute of play. Celestino Uquillas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raymond Arichaga hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Iraido Ucero scored 1-2 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfredo Candelaria, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Catarico's Celestino Uquillas got a free kick in the 96th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Canoabito FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
