When Cosme Ruiz fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cardon's protests and gave Cosme Ruiz a yellow card for diving instead. Cosme Ruiz hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Mederi Sorribes was shown his second yellow card after 22 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Savino FC's Mederi Sorribes got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Nafarroa Noceda, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 36 played minutes, Cardon's Nafarroa Noceda shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Andres Urturi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cardon reached it. After 37 minutes of play, Cardon's Etxepare Oteo made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andres Urturi was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
