Guasimote's Fortunato Pulido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elizardo Yecora in the 3rd minute of play. When Elazar Atauri came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Guasimote fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elazar Atauri couldn't finish the play. Elizardo Yecora struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Fortunato Pulido didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Araju FC. A hard shot 10 in the game by Loreto Rello from a close distance when the talented Fortunato Pulido managed to make a qualified save. Guasimote's players were relieved. Guasimote's Gonzales Fuente got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Araju FC's Elizardo Yecora got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Araju FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Guilllermo Ribeiro hit a great ball. Gonzales Fuente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Isidoro Anduaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Elazar Atauri made a precise shot to the right of Isidoro Anduaga. Araju FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Loreto Rello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Fortunato Pulido made a huge save. After having played for 30 minutes, Gonzales Fuente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guasimote's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonzales Fuente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elizardo Yecora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Loreto Rello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Fortunato Pulido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elizardo Yecora made a kick off. Tonete Mendibuey kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Isidoro Anduaga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elazar Atauri in the 56th minute. Loreto Rello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fortunato Pulido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loreto Rello in the 60th minute of the match. Gonzales Fuente might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Isidoro Anduaga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gonzales Fuente ran back to his position shaking his head. Fortunato Pulido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loreto Rello in the 70th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elizardo Yecora in the 72nd minute of play forced Guasimote's goalkeeper Fortunato Pulido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elizardo Yecora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fortunato Pulido having to interfere. Fortunato Pulido came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Araju FC's Elizardo Yecora. But to his dismay, Elizardo Yecora quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The Guasimote supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Guasimote would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
