But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lapurdi Cotillo couldn't finish the play. After having played for 17 minutes, Honorato Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Metaleros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Honorato Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Enekoitz Iruegas might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bidari Matanza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enekoitz Iruegas ran back to his position shaking his head. 24 minutes into the match, Atletico Montes FC's goalkeeper Bidari Matanza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enekoitz Iruegas. In the 31st match minute, Atletico Montes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Indalecio Bue to maneuver through the defense. If Enekoitz Iruegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Honorato Lima in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bidari Matanza saved Atletico Montes FC from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After 53 minutes Metaleros's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tartalo Espellosa who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Tartalo Espellosa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cebrian Fresnedo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Sergi Munguia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th match minute, Atletico Montes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pacifico Dieguez to maneuver through the defense. Pacifico Dieguez kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Severiano Valera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cebrian Fresnedo having to interfere. In the 76th minute Ronaldinho Ezquierdo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cebrian Fresnedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Severiano Valera managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletico Montes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Severiano Valera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cebrian Fresnedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldinho Ezquierdo in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cebrian Fresnedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bidari Matanza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Honorato Lima in the 84th minute of the match. Atletico Montes FC's Bidari Matanza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorato Lima in the 85th minute of play. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Montes FC's goalkeeper Bidari Matanza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Metaleros fans cheered their team off the field, for while Atletico Montes FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
