The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Maracaibo getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Severo Vallearena hit a great ball. Roberto Urroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramond Tagle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Enzo Parrondo made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Cresenciano Arganza sent off a good shot on target. Gilberto Madrazo hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilberto Madrazo in the 47th minute of play forced Maracaibo's goalkeeper Roberto Urroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Obano Barriga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 59th minute, Tallia Vilarrubia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Obano Barriga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Obano Barriga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto Madrazo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roberto Urroz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Teofilo Luzuriaga kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cresenciano Arganza in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enzo Parrondo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Neo Liberty FC's Enzo Parrondo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Obano Barriga in the 96th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Maracaibo players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
