Guacuco FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sesuldo Alderete was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 12 minutes into the match, Guacuco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sesuldo Alderete came free, but Aurre Hormaiztegui reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edson Inguanzo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bertol Hermida read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Sesuldo Alderete left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ZANARE FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. ZANARE FC's Bertol Hermida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save ZANARE FC from getting a goal against them. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sesuldo Alderete couldn't finish the play. Tadzio Campusano's late challenge caught a ZANARE FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tadzio Campusano helped the player get up and apologised. Tadzio Campusano kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Sesuldo Alderete's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aurre Hormaiztegui was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. The supporters of ZANARE FC booed when Guacuco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernado Ungia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edson Inguanzo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Bertol Hermida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Sesuldo Alderete got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Guacuco FC's Aurre Hormaiztegui got control of the ball when Sesuldo Alderete tried to sneak it across the goal line. Guacuco FC's Edson Inguanzo got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sesuldo Alderete received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Aurre Hormaiztegui tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edorta Añel kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. If Arotza Trevilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The ZANARE FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ZANARE FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
