In the 10th minute, Orlan Castro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Orlan Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Taguaiguai FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Gilabert Sanjurjo hit a great ball. Cabimas FC's Chaime Lombillo got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Taguaiguai FC's Alfonso Vagrande got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orlan Castro in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fidel Alzola saved Cabimas FC from getting behind. After 31 minutes, Naldo Galantia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taguaiguai FC and the Cabimas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cabimas FC booed when Taguaiguai FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Naldo Galantia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Tito Picardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Taguaiguai FC's Remicio Balcells got control of the ball when Chaime Lombillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alfonso Vagrande blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fidel Alzola having to make a save. Cabimas FC's Fidel Alzola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Vagrande in the 40th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Orlan Castro notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cabimas FC's Fidel Alzola. Fidel Alzola was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tito Picardo was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Tito Picardo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Taguaiguai FC's Remicio Balcells. Remicio Balcells was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Taguaiguai FC's Remicio Balcells played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chaime Lombillo in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlan Castro in the 57th minute of play forced Cabimas FC's goalkeeper Fidel Alzola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfonso Vagrande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orlan Castro in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fidel Alzola prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Remicio Balcells took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tito Picardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Tito Picardo put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Remicio Balcells. 75 minutes into the game, Ibon Paredes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Taguaiguai FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cabimas FC the free kick. Ibon Paredes kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Tito Picardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Remicio Balcells took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tito Picardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tito Picardo struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Remicio Balcells didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cabimas FC. Chaime Lombillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remicio Balcells read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Nicolas Caubilla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Remicio Balcells was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After 93 minutes of play Taguaiguai FC's Naldo Galantia was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 96 minutes into the match, Taguaiguai FC's goal looked a bit too open when Chaime Lombillo came free, but Remicio Balcells reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cabimas FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
