The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Armando Marron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Cipriano Yañez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francis Villaboa's late challenge caught a Guanoquito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francis Villaboa helped the player get up and apologised. Francis Villaboa hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute, Benjamin Barbanera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ignatius Calenga kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Balchises's Armando Marron got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Xabier Afaba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guanoquito's goalkeeper Luis-Antonio Beite, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, Guanoquito's goalkeeper Luis-Antonio Beite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armando Marron. Xiao Lezarazo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis-Antonio Beite having to interfere. 34 minutes into the game, William Zalvide cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Nardo Tramarria was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Balchises's Juan Cerrudemos got a free kick in the 40th minute. 44 minutes into the match, Guanoquito's Cipriano Yañez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nardo Tramarria narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for William Zalvide to strike the kick off in the second half. Juan Cerrudemos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, William Zalvide took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Nardo Tramarria to make any attempt to save it. Xabier Afaba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Luis-Antonio Beite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Balchises fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when Balchises's Armando Marron looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cipriano Yañez's late challenge caught a Balchises's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cipriano Yañez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Balchises's Nardo Tramarria proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Balchises from getting a goal against them. Nardo Tramarria made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Cipriano Yañez sent off a good shot on target. In the 90th match minute, Balchises was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xiao Lezarazo to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute Xabier Afaba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis-Antonio Beite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 96 minutes, William Zalvide made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Balchises's Nardo Tramarria tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Guanoquito had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
