In the 8th minute of the match Elpidio Zumiza sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Urtsua Gavito skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Algarroba's Urtsua Gavito got control of the ball when Aritza Melo tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zuri Orcondona in the 15th minute of play forced Matanzas FC's goalkeeper Cornelio Balanza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Algarroba's Zuri Orcondona in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 23rd match minute, Matanzas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frances Muro to maneuver through the defense. The attack was good, but when Karlos Flor in the 26th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The supporters of Algarroba booed when Matanzas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urtzi Magadan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Serafo Cardoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Algarroba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matanzas FC the free kick. Serafo Cardoso hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Urtsua Gavito was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Frances Muro. In the 35th minute Karlos Flor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelio Balanza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 36 minutes, Bingen Villarias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matanzas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bingen Villarias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Algarroba's goalkeeper Urtsua Gavito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Urtsua Gavito made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Aritza Melo sent off a good shot on target. In the 46thth minute of the game Zuri Orcondona who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Matanzas FC's Cornelio Balanza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Matanzas FC's Cornelio Balanza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zuri Orcondona in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bingen Villarias was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Karlos Flor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Matanzas FC's Cornelio Balanza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Matanzas FC from getting a goal against them. Karlos Flor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zuri Orcondona could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Cornelio Balanza made a huge save. 68 minutes into the match, Matanzas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Karlos Flor came free, but Cornelio Balanza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zuri Orcondona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karlos Flor in the 74th minute of play forced Matanzas FC's goalkeeper Cornelio Balanza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Karlos Flor came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Algarroba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karlos Flor couldn't finish the play. Cornelio Balanza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karlos Flor, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Urtsua Gavito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bingen Villarias in the 85th minute of play. Dolfo Sandes kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Bingen Villarias struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Urtsua Gavito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matanzas FC. A collision led to Matanzas FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Jose-Antonio Anuncibay hit a great ball. 93 minutes into the match, Algarroba's Teofilo Espinareda broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Zuri Orcondona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Algarroba players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
