Cachipal FC's Lauro Gadañon got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th minute Joseph Pagola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Aragones saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Haimar Rey charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Haimar Rey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chiquimbay's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Joseph Pagola 16 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Cachipal FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chiquimbay the free kick. In the 39th match minute, Cachipal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maule Paderniga to maneuver through the defense. Lauro Gadañon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Jose Aragones made a huge save. 47 minutes into the match, Cachipal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Buinton Carriles came free, but Lizardi Zadaya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
The wind increased when Flavio Val made the kick off in the second half. Cachipal FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Buinton Carriles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. After 92 played minutes Chiquimbay got a freekick which was hit by Elija Prados. Joseph Pagola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Jose Aragones tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cachipal FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Chiquimbay had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
