To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Arnalt Faria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mayita FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnalt Faria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mane Saer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 11 minutes, Teodosio Placiencia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aviagua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teodosio Placiencia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Romulo Pieres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mane Saer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otsoa Coco, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Aviagua's Teodosio Placiencia got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Teodosio Placiencia was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Austin Paramo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aviagua's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mayita FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Aviagua's Austin Paramo got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Ivan Heres made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Otsoa Coco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mane Saer having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Mayita FC's Arnalt Faria dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Ivan Heres stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romulo Pieres's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. In the 96th minute, Teodosio Placiencia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mayita FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Aviagua had controlled the match.
