An unexpectedly hard shot by Horado Villavicencio in the 3rd minute of play forced Deportivo Valencia F.C's goalkeeper César Soto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Tiburcio Maleta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 6 minutes into the game, Severino Faso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Valencia F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pozote the free kick. In the 7th minute of the match Gil Monteverde shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but César Soto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Antoine Saint-Exupéry came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Deportivo Valencia F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antoine Saint-Exupéry couldn't finish the play. Horado Villavicencio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. César Soto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Pozote booed when Deportivo Valencia F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Faso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pozote's Iparragirre Seseña played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antoine Saint-Exupéry in the 19th minute of play. If Antoine Saint-Exupéry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claude Adrales in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iparragirre Seseña prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 25th minute, Antoine Saint-Exupéry fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Iparragirre Seseña, passed just outside the right post. Claude Adrales took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iparragirre Seseña. Iparragirre Seseña dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. César Soto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Maleta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Deportivo Valencia F.C's César Soto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiburcio Maleta in the 32nd minute of play. Antoine Saint-Exupéry was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 37th minute. Deportivo Valencia F.C's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 41st minute, Horado Villavicencio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pozote fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Horado Villavicencio took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised César Soto. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claude Adrales made a kick off. If Claude Adrales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claude Adrales blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iparragirre Seseña having to make a save. César Soto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Maleta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th match minute, Deportivo Valencia F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bilbo Corres to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Pozote's zone, Claude Adrales stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iparragirre Seseña came out of the goal and Claude Adrales tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
