Siro Jolis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tom Wassenius in the 6th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético de Caracas's zone, Tirso Durango stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The supporters of Linterna verde booed when Atlético de Caracas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Piero Hincapié didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Atlético de Caracas's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelio Cisneros came free, but Zarando Calva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute Piotr Moizuk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Siro Jolis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tirso Durango could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Zarando Calva made a huge save. In the 17th match minute, Linterna verde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aldri Wenas to maneuver through the defense. Jimeno Piqueros short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Zarando Calva to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Zarando Calva made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Jimeno Piquero sent off a good shot on target. Rolando Alley hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Zarando Calva as he didn't even see the shot coming. Atlético de Caracas's Zarando Calva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético de Caracas from getting a goal against them.

Piero Hincapié charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Piero Hincapié the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Atlético de Caracas's Piero Hincapié got a free kick in the 97th minute. Aurelio Cisneros struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Zarando Calva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Linterna verde.
