Glenn Shapiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Connecticut Stars booed when Hoisington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jess Larson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Glenn Shapiro got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Wilbur Norris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Epperson in the 15th minute of play. If Glenn Shapiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adrian Shultz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philip Metz having to interfere. Glenn Shapiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Wilbur Norris made a huge save. Connecticut Stars's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Glenn Shapiro 25 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. If Bernardo Epperson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomás Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After having played for 47 minutes, Glenn Shapiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hoisington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Glenn Shapiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Bernardo Epperson made the kick off in the second half. If Glenn Shapiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardo Epperson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Wilbur Norris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Hoisington booed when Connecticut Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Derrick Rowell didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Connecticut Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Glenn Shapiro came free, but Wilbur Norris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Glenn Shapiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Bernardo Epperson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bernardo Epperson came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Hoisington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Epperson couldn't finish the play. If Bernardo Epperson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adrian Shultz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilbur Norris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Glenn Shapiro in the 79th minute of the match. In the 80th minute, Jess Larson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adrian Shultz kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Hoisington's Glenn Shapiro got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wilbur Norris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glenn Shapiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute Adrian Shultz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philip Metz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 97 played minutes, Hoisington's Jess Larson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wilbur Norris came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hoisington reached it. Hoisington's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
