Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Rupert Dodd kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute Marshall Schulz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilbur Norris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomás Cavalcante hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Shenandoah FC's Rupert Dodd got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marshall Schulz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marshall Schulz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilbur Norris having to make a save. Eli Bullard kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Wilbur Norris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnson West, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Wilbur Norris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rupert Dodd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Shenandoah FC's Marshall Schulz got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Connecticut Stars's zone, Rupert Dodd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilbur Norris came out of the goal and Rupert Dodd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Lyle Albright had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Philip Alley successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 34 minutes into the match, Connecticut Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Rupert Dodd came free, but Wilbur Norris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johnson West recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adrian Shultz was extremely unlucky when he, in the 37th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 39th minute, Rupert Dodd left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Shenandoah FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Rupert Dodd hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Wilbur Norris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lyle Albright, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

Adrian Shultz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Philip Alley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Rupert Dodd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Wilbur Norris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 61 played minutes Connecticut Stars got a freekick which was hit by D.J. Brewster. In the 64th minute, Shenandoah FC's Lyle Albright ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wilbur Norris. Wilbur Norris yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Marshall Schulz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the game, Derrick Rowell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Connecticut Stars's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Shenandoah FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Connecticut Stars's Derrick Rowell got a free kick in the 76th minute. Connecticut Stars's Wilbur Norris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Connecticut Stars from getting a goal against them. 88 minutes into the match, Connecticut Stars's goalkeeper Wilbur Norris had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marshall Schulz. If Marshall Schulz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marshall Schulz might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilbur Norris. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marshall Schulz ran back to his position shaking his head. When Shenandoah FC's Rupert Dodd, in the 98th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Shenandoah FC. Shenandoah FC played a much better game than Connecticut Stars and deserved their victory. The Connecticut Stars players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
