An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanton Buckley in the 5th minute of play forced Ashland FC's goalkeeper Josiah Taylor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Sterling Cohen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ashland FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sterling Cohen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jamel Carroll breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Sterling Cohen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shawn Gauthier kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Cyrus Davenport struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Josiah Taylor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Slinger FC. Cyrus Davenport received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Josiah Taylor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cyrus Davenport struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Josiah Taylor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Slinger FC. Ashland FC's Josiah Taylor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cyrus Davenport in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute, Cyrus Davenport got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stanton Buckley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 31 minutes, Rickey Joseph mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ashland FC and the Slinger FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ashland FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Josiah Taylor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cyrus Davenport in the 42nd minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The ball went over the crossbar instead. 55 minutes into the match, Slinger FC's goalkeeper Jamel Carroll had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sterling Cohen. Sterling Cohen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Slinger FC's Jamel Carroll proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Slinger FC from getting a goal against them. When Shawn Gauthier fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Slinger FC's protests and gave Shawn Gauthier a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Slinger FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Shawn Gauthier hit a great ball. Rickey Joseph hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute of the match Slinger FC got a corner. Ashland FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ronald Pack ran over to the corner to take the kick. Slinger FC's Ronald Pack was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Josiah Taylor in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Shawn Gauthier struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Josiah Taylor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Slinger FC. Stanton Buckley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josiah Taylor having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Quincy Valle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jamel Carroll was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
