The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeffrey Link got free with Desmond Cardoso in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Desmond Cardoso made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Jeffrey Link sent off a good shot on target. Elijah Waite hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 17th match minute, Buffalo Grove AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bradley Collier to maneuver through the defense. After 21 minutes, Elijah Waite mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Buffalo Grove AFC and the Atlético Tucumán players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Buffalo Grove AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elijah Waite to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute of the match Denver Hurd shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anson Burns showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Buffalo Grove AFC's Bradley Collier got a free kick in the 31st minute. Jamar Brannon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anson Burns having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Quintin Carr in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anson Burns prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 44 minutes into the match, Atlético Tucumán's goal looked a bit too open when Roscoe Platt came free, but Desmond Cardoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Carl McKinney charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carl McKinney the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 85 played minutes, Atlético Tucumán's Denver Hurd shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anson Burns came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Atlético Tucumán reached it. If Jamar Brannon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the game, one of Buffalo Grove AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Quintin Carr shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. With his leg Anson Burns managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Atlético Tucumán's Quintin Carr fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Desmond Cardoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeffrey Link in the 97th minute of play. Roscoe Platt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Buffalo Grove AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Atlético Tucumán's performance. The match ended with a win for Atlético Tucumán.
