Everett Lyons showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joseph Osborne, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Everett Lyons took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joseph Osborne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rey Salinas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerrod Bass, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Rey Salinas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerrod Bass in the 21st minute of the match. Roberto Busch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the game, Anson Barron was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Groton AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RIO NEGRO F.C the free kick. A collision led to Groton AFC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Anson Barron hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Roberto Busch had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Everett Lyons. RIO NEGRO F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roberto Busch was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Roberto Busch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Everett Lyons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, RIO NEGRO F.C's Sterling Heath got a free kick in the 45th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Groton AFC's Rubin Velasquez tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jerrod Bass to make the kick off. Jerrod Bass sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 61st match minute, Groton AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Dudley to maneuver through the defense. Jerrod Bass took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rey Salinas. Rey Salinas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 68th minute, Shelton Koehler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, Groton AFC's Rubin Velasquez broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Roberto Busch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Everett Lyons having to interfere. Jerrod Bass took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rey Salinas. Rey Salinas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. During the 76th minute of the match John Dudley completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave John Dudley a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 77th minute, John Dudley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute, Jerrod Bass ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rey Salinas was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Groton AFC's Rey Salinas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerrod Bass in the 84th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Groton AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Freddie Singleton came free, but Rey Salinas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freddie Singleton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
