The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, McHenry FC's Sebastian Jorgensen got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Sammy Vickers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mitchell Dupree having to interfere. After 9 played minutes Sammy Vickers rounded Foster City's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. McHenry FC's Kurtis Herndon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hans Peralta in the 13th minute of play. If Sammy Vickers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mitchell Dupree made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sammy Vickers in the 21st minute of play. Sammy Vickers received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mitchell Dupree came out and tried to block the shot, but Sammy Vickers slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 23rd minute. Foster City's Hans Peralta got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wilfredo Nicholson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kurtis Herndon having to interfere. In the 33rd match minute, Foster City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damon Delong to maneuver through the defense. Reed Byers's late challenge caught a Foster City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reed Byers helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, McHenry FC's Reed Byers got a free kick in the 35th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sammy Vickers in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mitchell Dupree saved Foster City from getting behind. In the 41stth minute of the game Sammy Vickers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Foster City's Mitchell Dupree was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sammy Vickers in the 43rd minute of play forced Foster City's goalkeeper Mitchell Dupree to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sammy Vickers in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mitchell Dupree saved Foster City from getting behind.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sammy Vickers to make the kick off. If Reed Byers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. McHenry FC's Napoleon Hawthorne got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mitchell Dupree made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Napoleon Hawthorne in the 65th minute of play. When Sebastian Jorgensen fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored McHenry FC's protests and gave Sebastian Jorgensen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd minute, Sebastian Jorgensen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastian Jorgensen hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, Merle Whitten made a precise shot to the right of Kurtis Herndon. McHenry FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. When Napoleon Hawthorne came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the McHenry FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Napoleon Hawthorne couldn't finish the play. The supporters of McHenry FC booed when Foster City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Merle Whitten didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96thth minute of the game Hans Peralta who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but McHenry FC's Kurtis Herndon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. McHenry FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
