Quantico FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Algona AFC the free kick. Wesley Stuart hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Quantico FC's zone, Leif Harding stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrian Cesario came out of the goal and Leif Harding tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peter Jennings didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Quantico FC's Shawn Copeland shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. If Leif Harding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Trey Harmon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adrian Cesario. Quantico FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Trey Harmon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Trey Harmon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Adrian Cesario tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Kurtis Wallace had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leif Harding sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kurtis Wallace to make the kick off. Peter Jennings showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurtis Wallace, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After a rather tough play, Algona AFC's Billy Hooks got a free kick in the 75th minute. Shawn Copeland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Peter Jennings made a huge save. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quantico FC's goalkeeper Adrian Cesario, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
