Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ryan Mora got the match started through his kick off. If Royce Conley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 7 minutes into the game, Kirk Castaneda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grove Place's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buna AFC the free kick. Mickey Dalton walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Ryan Mora's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ward Gregory read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Buna AFC's Brendon Cadena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Buna AFC from getting a goal against them. After having played for 16 minutes, Ryan Mora managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Buna AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ryan Mora was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Malcolm Thornton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendon Cadena having to interfere. In the 19thth minute of the game Jonah Barlow who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Buna AFC's Brendon Cadena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Buna AFC's Jorge Cantrell got a free kick in the 19th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Buna AFC's zone, Malcolm Thornton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brendon Cadena came out of the goal and Malcolm Thornton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 31 minutes into the game, Benny Darnell cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ward Gregory was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ryan Mora received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ward Gregory tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th match minute, Buna AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benny Darnell to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Buna AFC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Benny Darnell hit a great ball. Grove Place's Jonas Francis shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 39th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Brendon Cadena but with some difficulty. Royce Conley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ward Gregory having to interfere. Grove Place's Jonah Barlow got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonah Barlow made a kick off. Brendon Cadena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Malcolm Thornton, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After 56 played minutes Buna AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Cantrell. If Royce Conley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, Travis Hare hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Grove Place booed when Buna AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Cantrell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brendon Cadena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Malcolm Thornton in the 69th minute of play. Royce Conley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ward Gregory read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Royce Conley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Ward Gregory tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Royce Conley blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ward Gregory having to make a save. A collision led to Grove Place getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Jonas Francis hit a great ball. If Jonah Barlow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonah Barlow received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Brendon Cadena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Buna AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
