The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10th minute, German Stover got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paul Landry's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Wilfredo Orr skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by German Stover in the 32nd minute of play forced W.T.G.'s goalkeeper Wilfredo Orr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Charles City AFC's Dale Poole played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanley Mora in the 43rd minute of play. In the 47th minute, Charles City AFC's German Stover ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Wilfredo Orr. Wilfredo Orr yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and German Stover made a kick off. With a little luck, Charles City AFC's Dale Poole got control of the ball when Nathanial Esquivel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dale Poole made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nathanial Esquivel in the 57th minute. If German Stover had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilfredo Orr didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from German Stover went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After 77 minutes, Adolfo Simms mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the W.T.G. and the Charles City AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to W.T.G. getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Adolfo Simms hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by German Stover in the 81st minute of play forced W.T.G.'s goalkeeper Wilfredo Orr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Paul Landry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paul Landry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Wilfredo Orr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the game, Jay LeBlanc was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Charles City AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave W.T.G. the free kick. In the 88th match minute, Charles City AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jay LeBlanc to maneuver through the defense. Dale Poole made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanley Mora in the 89th minute of play. German Stover received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. W.T.G.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
