Jamel Holzer succeeded in the game's 23rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Winford Scruggs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. J.C. Valdez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roscoe Bassett's late challenge caught a Bethel Acres's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. If Perry Freeman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Bethel Acres were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jamel Holzer made a kick off. Perry Freeman might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dalton Guerrero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Perry Freeman ran back to his position shaking his head. When Shelby Hawk came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Mayflower Village AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shelby Hawk couldn't finish the play. In the 67th minute, Quincy Michael hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Perry Freeman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalton Guerrero having to interfere.
