The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Bay Minette getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Devin Sellers hit a great ball. When Mitchell Gauthier came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Bay Minette fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mitchell Gauthier couldn't finish the play. When Maxton AFC's Pascal Whitehead in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bay Minette's goalie prevented a goal. Trevor McGrath struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. In the 27th minute, Mitchell Gauthier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rory Doran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mitchell Gauthier in the 28th minute of the match. Boyce Traylor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rory Doran having to interfere. A collision led to Maxton AFC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Rex Garland hit a great ball. Mitchell Gauthier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pascal Whitehead fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elliot Fujieda having to interfere. After 39 played minutes Bay Minette got a freekick which was hit by Lee Decker. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bay Minette's goalkeeper Elliot Fujieda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 43 minutes, Devin Sellers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bay Minette and the Maxton AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 42 minutes into the game, one of Bay Minette:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The wind increased when Trevor McGrath made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Trevor McGrath in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elliot Fujieda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Elliot Fujieda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trevor McGrath, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Maxton AFC defense, Mitchell Gauthier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rory Doran. The Maxton AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rory Doran should have stopped the shot. Pascal Whitehead struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. After having played for 66 minutes, Pascal Whitehead managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maxton AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pascal Whitehead was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th match minute, Bay Minette was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tyson Fuller to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Trevor McGrath managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maxton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Trevor McGrath was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elliot Fujieda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trevor McGrath in the 70th minute of play forced Bay Minette's goalkeeper Elliot Fujieda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bay Minette's Elliot Fujieda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trevor McGrath in the 82nd minute of play. Mitchell Gauthier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Maxton AFC's zone, Mitchell Gauthier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rory Doran came out of the goal and Mitchell Gauthier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th minute, Boyce Traylor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Mitchell Gauthier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rory Doran was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. When Gustavo Pool fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maxton AFC's protests and gave Gustavo Pool a yellow card for diving instead. After 90 played minutes Maxton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Pool. Rex Garland kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Maxton AFC's zone, Boyce Traylor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rory Doran came out of the goal and Boyce Traylor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
