Tyler Ellis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renato Gregory, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Sandalfoot Cove AFC's Ervin Godwin got a free kick in the 24th minute. Ervin Godwin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Sandalfoot Cove AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Stephenson came free, but Tyler Ellis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sandalfoot Cove AFC's zone, Emilio Stephenson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tyler Ellis came out of the goal and Emilio Stephenson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jerome Thome kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 44th minute Jerome Thome shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyler Ellis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Hilliard's Renato Gregory sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tyler Ellis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emilio Stephenson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emilio Stephenson in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tyler Ellis saved Sandalfoot Cove AFC from getting behind. If Benito Moyer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johnathan Payton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Darell Cervantes's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. If Emilio Stephenson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Emilio Stephenson in the 78th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Tyler Ellis kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-2 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Tyler Ellis made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Renato Gregory sent off a good shot on target. Tyler Ellis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Stephenson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Darell Cervantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hilliard's Renato Gregory got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Emilio Stephenson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Hilliard could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sandalfoot Cove AFC throughout the match.
