With his leg Winston Mason managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Reedsburg AFC's Taylor Dorsey fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind CAI's goalkeeper Winston Mason, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 15th minute, Alberto Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kyle Sears sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Winston Mason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Olson in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute Roberto Olson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Winston Mason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Taylor Dorsey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Winston Mason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Taylor Dorsey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Winston Mason made a huge save. If Taylor Dorsey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in CAI's zone, Roberto Olson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Winston Mason came out of the goal and Roberto Olson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kyle Sears was the one to do the kick off. Florian Noel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Lane Bennett made a huge save. Kyle Sears kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Winston Mason didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roberto Olson went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. When Florian Noel fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CAI's protests and gave Florian Noel a yellow card for diving instead. The tension between the Reedsburg AFC and the CAI players grew even worse after the yellow card.
