If Jared Anthony had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jared Anthony came free with the goalkeeper in the 21st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jaime Shafer could save by the left post. In the 23rd minute, Sammy Sumner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute, Ted Britt made a precise shot to the right of Winford Pulliam. Drumm FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After 29 minutes, Ronny Jacobsen mouthed his way into the referee's book. Jaime Shafer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jefferson McNeill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute Jefferson McNeill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Shafer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jared Anthony could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Jaime Shafer made a huge save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After some careless play in the Pipestone FC defense, Jared Anthony kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jaime Shafer. The Pipestone FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jaime Shafer should have stopped the shot. 58 minutes into the match, Pipestone FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jared Anthony came free, but Jaime Shafer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Pipestone FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jared Anthony came free, but Jaime Shafer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. One of Pipestone FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Drumm FC:s goal. Winford Pulliam made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Ted Britt sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ted Britt got free with Winford Pulliam in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. There was no doubt that Drumm FC were the better team. Drumm FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
