Ernesto Lidon didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Piratas F.C.'s goalkeeper Douglass Fletcher had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonardo Sweeney. The crowd rose to their feet as Kannapolis's Duncan Patrick slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Douglass Fletcher. That made the score 2-0 after 32 minutes of play. Douglass Fletcher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duncan Patrick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Douglass Fletcher made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rick Hamlin in the 36th minute. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emilio Walters made in the 56th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Casey Browning immediately put the ball in play. The crowd rose to their feet as Piratas F.C.'s Parker Presley slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Johnnie Barney. That made the score 2-1 after 57 minutes of play. In the 61st minute, Marcos Reynolds reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Johnnie Barney. The goal made the score 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Parker Presley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piratas F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Parker Presley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnnie Barney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Kannapolis defense, Parker Presley kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Johnnie Barney. The Kannapolis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Johnnie Barney should have stopped the shot. Douglass Fletcher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rick Hamlin in the 83rd minute of play. Kannapolis's Johnnie Barney proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Kannapolis from getting a goal against them. 86 minutes into the game, Parker Presley cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-5. Johnnie Barney was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roman Wall kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute of the match Renaldo Norwood shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Douglass Fletcher showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Douglass Fletcher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Sweeney in the 95th minute of the match. When Parker Presley came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Piratas F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Parker Presley couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Piratas F.C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
