Geraldo Westbrook received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Sean Zamora tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sean Zamora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thad Neal in the 9th minute of the match. Moses Stjohn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Louie Guerrero in the 13th minute of play. After 30 played minutes Edina FC got a freekick which was hit by Kristopher Dupre. Geraldo Westbrook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Zamora having to interfere. LosAngeles United's Moses Stjohn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Louie Guerrero in the 34th minute of play. Devon Christensen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moses Stjohn having to interfere. If Louie Guerrero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sonny Duncan went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Edina FC's Alfonzo Trujillo to fire away a dangerous shot which Moses Stjohn despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thad Neal made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thad Neal in the 53rd minute of play forced Edina FC's goalkeeper Sean Zamora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geraldo Westbrook in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sean Zamora prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sean Zamora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thad Neal in the 67th minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, LosAngeles United's Thad Neal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sean Zamora made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Devon Christensen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. In the 84th match minute, LosAngeles United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thad Neal to maneuver through the defense. In the 85thth minute of the game Thad Neal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Edina FC's Sean Zamora was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 89 minutes, Louie Guerrero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edina FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Louie Guerrero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Geraldo Westbrook came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the LosAngeles United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geraldo Westbrook couldn't finish the play. LosAngeles United's Moses Stjohn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Louie Guerrero in the 97th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Edina FC's zone, Thad Neal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sean Zamora came out of the goal and Thad Neal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The LosAngeles United players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
