Fullerton's supporters rose to their feet, but Miles Ellison was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giuseppe Schmitz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rico Newcomb hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Rico Newcomb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ted Herrera having to interfere. Rico Newcomb kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Giuseppe Schmitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miles Ellison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Andrew Thayer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pittsburgh Goals's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrew Thayer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ted Herrera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ted Herrera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genaro Jackson in the 45th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrew Thayer to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Pittsburgh Goals defense, Miles Ellison kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Giuseppe Schmitz. The Pittsburgh Goals fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Giuseppe Schmitz should have stopped the shot. Rico Newcomb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ted Herrera having to interfere. Rico Newcomb could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Ted Herrera made a huge save. After having played for 65 minutes, Miles Ellison managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fullerton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miles Ellison was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 67 minutes into the match, Pittsburgh Goals's goal looked a bit too open when Pierre Barber came free, but Giuseppe Schmitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andrew Thayer in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ted Herrera saved Fullerton from getting behind. After 74 minutes, Willie Hills mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pittsburgh Goals and the Fullerton players grew even worse after the yellow card.
