In the 8th minute, Alan Rich sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Deer Lodge FC's Darryl Jacob didn't even have to move. After 10 played minutes Kermit Strong rounded West Memphis's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deer Lodge FC's goalkeeper Darryl Jacob, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When D.J. Burns came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the West Memphis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that D.J. Burns couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the match, Deer Lodge FC's goal looked a bit too open when Merlin Fritz came free, but Darryl Jacob reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Son Dunham in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Val Dickerson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Son Dunham in the 88th minute of the match. 93 minutes in the game, D.J. Burns fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Darryl Jacob having to interfere. Merlin Fritz scored 2-1 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Darryl Jacob, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Deer Lodge FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
