An unexpectedly hard shot by Santos Nolan in the 17th minute of play forced Durham AFC's goalkeeper Carlos Howe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Durham AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Talbot came free, but Carlos Howe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernando Manning sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Danial Roland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ridgefield FC's Bill Cassidy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danial Roland in the 34th minute of play. Eliseo Talbot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Howe having to interfere. Vern Edmondson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Bill Cassidy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Bill Cassidy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danial Roland in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 56thth minute of the game Danial Roland who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ridgefield FC's Bill Cassidy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Willard Glover kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Solomon Putnam's late challenge caught a Durham AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain.
