The supporters of Mapleton AFC booed when A.C Atlantic Highlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walton Walters didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Stephen Duffy could shoot a difficult shot in the 5th minute, which Lee Cunningham however easily saved by the left post. 7 minutes into the match, Mapleton AFC's goalkeeper Lee Cunningham had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stephen Duffy. Stephen Duffy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Lee Cunningham made a huge save. Corey Lynn hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Don Kinsey from long distance, 20 minutes into the match, got Lee Cunningham's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Carlos Gant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cedric Rader having to interfere. In the 23rdth minute of the game Rigoberto Grover who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but A.C Atlantic Highlands's Cedric Rader was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to A.C Atlantic Highlands getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Don Kinsey hit a great ball. In the 29th minute of the match Frankie Gillespie sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cedric Rader skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Carlos Gant managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mapleton AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Gant was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cedric Rader took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Gant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Gant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Cedric Rader tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Rigoberto Grover managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mapleton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rigoberto Grover was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cedric Rader breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Gant in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cedric Rader saved A.C Atlantic Highlands from getting behind. If Terence Rubin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rigoberto Grover made a kick off. Rigoberto Grover's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cedric Rader read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th match minute, A.C Atlantic Highlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clayton Sandoval to maneuver through the defense. If Rigoberto Grover had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Gant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 63 minutes, Rigoberto Grover mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mapleton AFC and the A.C Atlantic Highlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd match minute, Mapleton AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Grover to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the match, Mapleton AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Stephen Duffy came free, but Lee Cunningham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Rigoberto Grover came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Mapleton AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rigoberto Grover couldn't finish the play. Cedric Rader showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rigoberto Grover, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Terence Rubin scored 1-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lee Cunningham, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Carlos Gant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cedric Rader having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rigoberto Grover in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cedric Rader saved A.C Atlantic Highlands from getting behind. Rigoberto Grover sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cedric Rader showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rigoberto Grover in the 91st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rigoberto Grover in the 94th minute of play forced A.C Atlantic Highlands's goalkeeper Cedric Rader to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 94 played minutes A.C Atlantic Highlands got a freekick which was hit by Clayton Sandoval. Mapleton AFC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because A.C Atlantic Highlands had won, even though Mapleton AFC had held more of the ball.
