Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Loren Kohler kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute of the match Ty Stockton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Louis Thomson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Powellton's goal looked a bit too open when Tommie Woods came free, but Louis Thomson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Powellton getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Roy Sutton hit a great ball. After 8 played minutes, Winterville's Hal Jimenez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Louis Thomson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Winterville reached it. After a rather tough play, Powellton's C.J. Nash got a free kick in the 16th minute. Tommie Woods fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Louis Thomson having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Powellton's goal looked a bit too open when Tommie Woods came free, but Louis Thomson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Powellton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terrell Otto to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute of the match Hal Jimenez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Louis Thomson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Winterville's Foster McKinley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loren Kohler in the 31st minute of play. Tommie Woods scored 0-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Louis Thomson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 41st minute, Loren Kohler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Randell Coats had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Loren Kohler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Foster McKinley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. After the first half Winterville were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tommie Woods to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Powellton's goalkeeper Louis Thomson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Terrell Clay. Loren Kohler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Foster McKinley having to interfere. With a little luck, Powellton's Louis Thomson got control of the ball when Terrell Clay tried to sneak it across the goal line. Foster McKinley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loren Kohler in the 60th minute of the match. Louis Thomson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommie Woods in the 65th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the game, Edward Sheldon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Winterville's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Powellton the free kick. Edward Sheldon hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Tommie Woods might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Louis Thomson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tommie Woods ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommie Woods got free with Louis Thomson in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Loren Kohler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Foster McKinley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Powellton's goalkeeper Louis Thomson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Terrell Clay. Powellton's Randell Coats got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Terrell Clay ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Louis Thomson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. A collision led to Winterville getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Ed Mohr hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Loren Kohler in the 88th minute of play forced Winterville's goalkeeper Foster McKinley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Randell Coats left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Powellton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Terrell Clay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Louis Thomson made a huge save. Terrell Clay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Louis Thomson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Winterville walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
