After having played for 7 minutes, Tyson Flynn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Highland City AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tyson Flynn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Garrett Wallace had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Taylor Vega took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tyson Flynn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21stth minute of the game Tyson Flynn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pine Grove's Taylor Vega was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garrett Wallace in the 24th minute of play forced Highland City AFC's goalkeeper Renato Owen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damien Wray charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damien Wray the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Damien Wray hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Highland City AFC's Renato Owen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Highland City AFC from getting a goal against them. Highland City AFC's Renato Owen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garrett Wallace in the 28th minute of play. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pine Grove's goalkeeper Taylor Vega, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fernando Montoya hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Taylor Vega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tyson Flynn, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 47 minutes in the game, Garrett Wallace fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Renato Owen having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Garrett Wallace to strike the kick off in the second half. Jose Pepper placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Highland City AFC's Damien Wray got a free kick in the 75th minute. Renato Owen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Montoya in the 76th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Pine Grove's goalkeeper Taylor Vega had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tyson Flynn. In the 80th match minute, Pine Grove was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonas Byrne to maneuver through the defense. When Lucas Adair fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Highland City AFC's protests and gave Lucas Adair a yellow card for diving instead. Lucas Adair kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. William Hightower charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed William Hightower the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fernando Montoya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 96 minutes of play, Highland City AFC's Tyson Flynn made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Taylor Vega was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Pine Grove supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Highland City AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Highland City AFC.
