Josh Stapleton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Monroe Wilhelm having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Lawton's Josh Stapleton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Monroe Wilhelm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Monroe Wilhelm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Homer Lipscomb, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Lawton's zone, Heriberto Negron stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmundo Rowan came out of the goal and Heriberto Negron tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Monroe Wilhelm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Homer Lipscomb in the 27th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Heriberto Negron managed to get in a good position for a shot. Berea AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Heriberto Negron was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmundo Rowan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wilfredo Bass scored 1-0 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edmundo Rowan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 34 minutes into the game, Lawton's Josh Stapleton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Monroe Wilhelm made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Edmundo Rowan was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Aidan Benson.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Heriberto Negron made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Wilfredo Bass got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Heriberto Negron came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Berea AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Heriberto Negron couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heriberto Negron in the 57th minute of play forced Lawton's goalkeeper Edmundo Rowan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 58 minutes of play Lawton's Raymundo Stone was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Berea AFC booed when Lawton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymundo Stone didn't get a good kick on the ball. Heriberto Negron scored 2-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edmundo Rowan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Homer Lipscomb got free with Monroe Wilhelm in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Moises MacDonald might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Monroe Wilhelm. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moises MacDonald ran back to his position shaking his head. Moises MacDonald's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Monroe Wilhelm read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Josh Stapleton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Berea AFC's zone, Homer Lipscomb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Monroe Wilhelm came out of the goal and Homer Lipscomb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Homer Lipscomb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Josh Stapleton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Berea AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
