Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Brookside's Anthony Denson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Anthony Denson's late challenge caught a Winters's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anthony Denson helped the player get up and apologised. Brookside's Zachery Knapp got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Winters's Tyrese Long got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brookside's goalkeeper Bobby Spivey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 24thth minute of the game Dean Aragon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brookside's Bobby Spivey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Dean Aragon came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Winters fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dean Aragon couldn't finish the play. Ahmed McIntosh's late challenge caught a Winters's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ahmed McIntosh helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Brookside's Ahmed McIntosh got a free kick in the 30th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Brookside's zone, Vernon Howard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bobby Spivey came out of the goal and Vernon Howard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Winters's Dean Aragon in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Brookside's goalie prevented a goal. 46 minutes into the game, Nolan Posey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brookside's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Winters the free kick. After a rather tough play, Brookside's Nolan Posey got a free kick in the 46th minute. If Tyrese Long had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Brookside players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Winters were winning 0-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dean Aragon to make the kick off. The supporters of Brookside booed when Winters was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tyrese Long didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dean Aragon kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 60th minute Zachery Knapp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Grossman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 64 minutes, Tyrese Long managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Winters's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tyrese Long was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tyrese Long received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Bobby Spivey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67thth minute of the game Dean Aragon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brookside's Bobby Spivey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 70th minute of the match Rob Ruth shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jesus Grossman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Anthony Denson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brookside's supporters rose to their feet, but Anthony Denson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jesus Grossman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Tyrese Long had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Dean Aragon came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Winters fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dean Aragon couldn't finish the play. Brookside's Bobby Spivey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Brookside from getting a goal against them. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Winters walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
