Kendallville's Jerold Patterson got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kendallville's Shelby Woodward played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by C.J. Velez in the 8th minute of play. If C.J. Velez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, Kendallville's Jerold Patterson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gordon Underwood narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by C.J. Velez in the 15th minute of play forced Kendallville's goalkeeper Shelby Woodward to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jefferson Barth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shelby Woodward having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Kendallville's goal looked a bit too open when C.J. Velez came free, but Shelby Woodward reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Kendallville's Brendon McAllister in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Dario McClendon kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After having played for 43 minutes, Jefferson Barth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eldersburg AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jefferson Barth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute Brendon McAllister shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gordon Underwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jerold Patterson might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gordon Underwood. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jerold Patterson ran back to his position shaking his head.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when C.J. Velez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jerold Patterson scored 0-1 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gordon Underwood, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jerold Patterson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Gordon Underwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brendon McAllister in the 65th minute of play forced Eldersburg AFC's goalkeeper Gordon Underwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Eldersburg AFC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Jefferson Barth hit a great ball. Kendallville's supporters rose to their feet, but Brendon McAllister was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gordon Underwood breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 84th minute Brendon McAllister shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gordon Underwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Eldersburg AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
