Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Young Engel took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 8th minute, Merrill Chambers made a precise shot to the right of Lane Wiley. Mendenhall AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Garth Cormier took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lane Wiley. Lane Wiley dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Lane Wiley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Merrill Chambers in the 18th minute of the match. Garth Cormier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lane Wiley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garth Cormier in the 31st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Merrill Chambers in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lane Wiley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot 34 in the game by Young Engel from a close distance when the talented Devon Reyes managed to make a qualified save. Columbus Grove's players were relieved. Rick McIntosh hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Garth Cormier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 40 minutes into the game, Sterling Abernathy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mendenhall AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Columbus Grove the free kick. When Merrill Chambers, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 41 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Lane Wiley was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Merrill Chambers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half Columbus Grove were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Columbus Grove's Merrill Chambers got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Rory Berg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enrique McNeil kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Young Engel in the 69th minute of play forced Columbus Grove's goalkeeper Devon Reyes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute Enrique McNeil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lane Wiley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lane Wiley didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 77th minute, which inside left pole to 0-3. In the 82ndth minute of the game Young Engel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Columbus Grove's Devon Reyes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Young Engel in the 83rd minute of play forced Columbus Grove's goalkeeper Devon Reyes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute, Marco Huntley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Garth Cormier in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lane Wiley prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
