Whitney Chavez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernie Douglas in the 19th minute of play forced DEPORTIVO ORO's goalkeeper Lee Feliciano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute Bernie Douglas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lee Feliciano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the DEPORTIVO ORO defense, Bernie Douglas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lee Feliciano. The DEPORTIVO ORO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lee Feliciano should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Walker Rhoades managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valley FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Walker Rhoades was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lee Feliciano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Walker Rhoades fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lee Feliciano having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, Chuck Dooley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DEPORTIVO ORO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valley FC the free kick. A collision led to DEPORTIVO ORO getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Chuck Dooley hit a great ball. In the 41st match minute, DEPORTIVO ORO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joe Worthington to maneuver through the defense. In the game's 42nd minute Valley FC's Nathaniel Gustafson took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Lee Feliciano and thus the score was 0-3. The supporters of DEPORTIVO ORO booed when Valley FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Banning didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Whitney Chavez made a kick off. In the 54th minute Donnie Waddell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lee Feliciano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, Bernie Douglas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Bernie Douglas managed to get in a good position for a shot. During the 92nd minute of the match Chuck Dooley completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Chuck Dooley a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, DEPORTIVO ORO's Chuck Dooley got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Valley FC's Nathaniel Gustafson couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 94th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for DEPORTIVO ORO.
