Sammy Mack took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justin Huang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lorenzo Humphrey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Eatonville AFC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Gavin Quintana hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grant Winkler in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Woodrow MacKenzie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Lorenzo Humphrey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilmer Lancaster might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Woodrow MacKenzie. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilmer Lancaster ran back to his position shaking his head. Eatonville AFC's Gavin Quintana suffered a concussion in the 15th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. 15 minutes into the game, Joseph Salgado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Waynesburg AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eatonville AFC the free kick. After 16 played minutes Waynesburg AFC got a freekick which was hit by Joseph Salgado. Wilmer Lancaster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Woodrow MacKenzie having to interfere. Lorenzo Humphrey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Sammy Mack tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute Lorenzo Humphrey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sammy Mack saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 minutes, Sydney Yu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eatonville AFC and the Waynesburg AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th minute, Sydney Yu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilmer Lancaster succeeded in the game's 30th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. After having played for 33 minutes, Wilmer Lancaster managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Eatonville AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilmer Lancaster was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Eatonville AFC defense, Lorenzo Humphrey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sammy Mack. The Eatonville AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sammy Mack should have stopped the shot. Wilmer Lancaster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Woodrow MacKenzie having to interfere. Antony Love sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Woodrow MacKenzie was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Grant Winkler came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Eatonville AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grant Winkler couldn't finish the play. The Eatonville AFC fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when Eatonville AFC's Grant Winkler looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
