Omar Kirby was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 24 minutes into the match. The Omak AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cesar Britt should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Russell Hannah in the 43rd minute of play forced Omak AFC's goalkeeper Cesar Britt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cesar Britt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miles Escobar, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The Omak AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Londonderry were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miles Escobar to make the kick off. Santos Coyle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Aurelio Gonzales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61stth minute of the game Miles Escobar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Omak AFC's Cesar Britt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 63 minutes into the game, Miles Escobar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Cesar Britt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Russell Hannahs short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Cesar Britt to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 69th minute, Russell Hannah left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Londonderry fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. In the 78th minute, Miles Escobar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cesar Britt. The goal made the score 0-5. Cesar Britt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Russell Hannah in the 84th minute. Grant Jernigan's late challenge caught a Londonderry's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Grant Jernigan helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Omak AFC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Grant Jernigan hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute, Stanton Becerra had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When Santos Coyle fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Omak AFC's protests and gave Santos Coyle a yellow card for diving instead. Santos Coyle kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After 94 played minutes, Londonderry's Daron Carrington shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cesar Britt came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Londonderry reached it. When Santos Coyle was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 97 minutes had been played. 96 minutes into the game, one of Omak AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Daron Carrington walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Londonderry eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
