Dirk Green was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Brett Novak. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mitchell Uster in the 24th minute of play forced Alpena's goalkeeper Dirk Green to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matthew Cahill kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Johnathan McCracken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute, Lanny Frey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute, Johnathan McCracken got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 31 played minutes Alpena got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Aviles. Dirk Green made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnathan McCracken in the 32nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Alpena's zone, Johnathan McCracken stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dirk Green came out of the goal and Johnathan McCracken tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnathan McCracken got free with Dirk Green in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 44 minutes into the match, Alpena's Rico Wesley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Saul Tabor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 48 minutes, Mitchell Uster managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montoursville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mitchell Uster was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Mitchell Uster made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Mitchell Uster made a precise shot to the right of Dirk Green. Alpena's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Dirk Green showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnathan McCracken, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Saul Tabor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rico Wesley in the 66th minute. Dirk Green didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mitchell Uster went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Saul Tabor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rusty Carmichael in the 73rd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Johnathan McCracken notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Alpena's Dirk Green. Dirk Green was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mitchell Uster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute, Rico Wesley fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Saul Tabor, passed just outside the right post. Mitchell Uster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dirk Green having to interfere. Joey Looney kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Johnathan McCracken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Joey Looney fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alpena's protests and gave Joey Looney a yellow card for diving instead. Joey Looney kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. A nice corner shot did that Truman Terry got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dirk Green quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
