The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 4 minutes, Julio Chappelle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ridgechester Fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julio Chappelle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Julio Chappelle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Homerville AFC booed when Ridgechester Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Colby Gillis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th play minute Victor Arellano came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Harvey Sanford. 1-1. 27 minutes into the game, Domenic MacMillan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Homerville AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ridgechester Fc the free kick. After a rather tough play, Homerville AFC's Domenic MacMillan got a free kick in the 27th minute. After 30 played minutes Ridgechester Fc got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Yu. A hard shot by Don Messer from long distance, 30 minutes into the match, got Harvey Sanford's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Ridgechester Fc's Harvey Sanford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaiah Banning in the 32nd minute of play. Harvey Sanford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaiah Banning in the 36th minute of play. Leonard Blanchard hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Julio Chappelle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stacey Joyner hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Jay Feldman, 48 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Isaiah Banning was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Julio Chappelle managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ridgechester Fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julio Chappelle was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Chappelle who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Adrian Wilkerson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Harvey Sanford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Arellano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Victor Arellano came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Homerville AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Arellano couldn't finish the play. Ridgechester Fc's Harvey Sanford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaiah Banning in the 62nd minute of play. Isaiah Banning sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the game, Maxwell Kenny was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ridgechester Fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Homerville AFC the free kick. Darrell McMahon struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Adrian Wilkerson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ridgechester Fc. Harvey Sanford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaiah Banning in the 88th minute of play.
