If Randall Burgos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Randall Burgos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Andrew Connolly when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 36th minute Basil Ackerman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Larry Dean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luis Griggs was the one to do the kick off. After 56 minutes of play West Ocean City's Jess Matson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Jess Matson hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Sammy Bullock kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Sammy Bullock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute of the match, Basil Ackerman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Larry Dean was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Randall Burgos in the 65th minute of play forced Northport FC's goalkeeper Andrew Connolly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute Randall Burgos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrew Connolly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute, Basil Ackerman made a precise shot to the right of Larry Dean. West Ocean City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Glenn Staples received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Andrew Connolly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Luis Griggs managed to get in a good position for a shot. West Ocean City's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Griggs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrew Connolly breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute Randall Burgos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrew Connolly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Luis Griggs came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the West Ocean City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Griggs couldn't finish the play. Randall Burgos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Northport FC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over West Ocean City's much stronger midfield.
