In the 13th match minute, Zionsville AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ali Dwyer to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Zionsville AFC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Ricardo Nance hit a great ball. In the 19thth minute of the game Enoch Engle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zionsville AFC's D.J. Greer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Howe's zone, Sung Holland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Korey Blanco came out of the goal and Sung Holland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Korey Blanco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnoldo Calderon in the 25th minute of the match. A collision led to Zionsville AFC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ricardo Nance hit a great ball. Chad Craven recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Zionsville AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Enoch Engle came free, but D.J. Greer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zionsville AFC's D.J. Greer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enoch Engle in the 38th minute of play. Sung Holland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Korey Blanco having to interfere. Rolland Morton might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over D.J. Greer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rolland Morton ran back to his position shaking his head. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arnoldo Calderon was the one to do the kick off. Arnoldo Calderon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. D.J. Greer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chad Craven in the 57th minute of play. Arnoldo Calderon struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Korey Blanco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zionsville AFC. Korey Blanco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnoldo Calderon in the 67th minute of the match. Enoch Engle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, Howe's Josh Zavala seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Josh Zavala the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Howe protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Josh Zavala had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 73 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Howe! Korey Blanco went to the wrong direction when Joesph Ricks was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Sung Holland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Greer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chad Craven in the 93rd minute of the match. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
