Lanett's Oswaldo Barron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lane Medrano in the 58th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Sheldon Pruett left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lanett fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sheldon Pruett in the 77th minute of play forced Economy's goalkeeper Scottie Hollis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Lanett's goalkeeper Oswaldo Barron had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Johnathan Franco. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Lane Medrano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Economy's supporters rose to their feet, but Lane Medrano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oswaldo Barron breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Johnathan Franco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Oswaldo Barron tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 86 minutes, Reed Ransom managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lanett's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reed Ransom was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Lanett's goalkeeper Oswaldo Barron, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Economy walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
