Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dexter McCarthy took the kick off in the first half of the match. Teodoro Hinkle kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. When Giuseppe Elliot fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New Roads's protests and gave Giuseppe Elliot a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, one of New Roads:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for New Roads. 16 minutes into the match, New Roads's goal looked a bit too open when Rich Luther came free, but Jeffrey Hays reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute of the match, Franklin Smalls got a very nice opportunity to score, but Preston Rader was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Preston Rader made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Franklin Smalls sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lyle Parsons in the 27th minute of play forced New Roads's goalkeeper Jeffrey Hays to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dexter McCarthy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Preston Rader having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Lake Sarasota's Rich Luther sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jeffrey Hays narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dexter McCarthy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Franklin Smalls had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half Lake Sarasota were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Jeffrey Hays made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heriberto Ewing in the 52nd minute of play. If Rich Luther had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rich Luther's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 58thth minute, Jeffrey Hays skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jarvis Buchanan kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. If Franklin Smalls had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jarvis Buchanan during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jarvis Buchanan kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. The supporters of New Roads booed when Lake Sarasota was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lyle Parsons didn't get a good kick on the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Franklin Smalls notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Lake Sarasota's Preston Rader. Preston Rader was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Franklin Smalls recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75th minute, Lake Sarasota's Heriberto Ewing dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. After having played for 78 minutes, Rich Luther managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lake Sarasota's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rich Luther was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rich Luther could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Jeffrey Hays made a huge save. The supporters of New Roads booed when Lake Sarasota was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarvis Buchanan didn't get a good kick on the ball. New Roads's Franklin Smalls got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
